Closure of Cape Town campus

Since the start of the South Africa semester in 2007, there has always been a Cape Town element to the program.  For those coming to Pietermaritzburg, this has been a three-week stint in Cape Town at the end of their time in Kwazulu-Natal.  For the past four years, a second cohort has studied at Wellwood Lodge in Fish Hoek, Cape Town, and this has been a very popular Study Away option for APU students.

Unfortunately, reduced student numbers have resulted in the closure of several APU Study Away opportunities and the Cape Town campus has been one of those.  The Spring 2019 cohort was the last full-semester cohort to use Wellwood Lodge and the API Board has negotiated the sale of the property to another Christian organisation.  It is hoped that future Pietermaritzburg cohorts will still be able to spend their last three weeks in Cape Town, and the purchasers of Wellwood have agreed in principle to our students staying there, which is really great news!
